I want to extend my sincerest gratitude to the voters of the 95th District who elected me PA State Representative to fill the seat left vacant by Auditor General Eugene DePasquale in the recent Special Election. I am humbled and overwhelmed by the support we received throughout the campaign process and, now, as I prepare to take the oath of the office.
I thank and respect my friends and opponents, Bill Swartz and Bryan Tate. The three of us were friends and colleagues prior to this campaign, and I am certain we will remain so hereafter. All three candidates ran a clean, positive, issue-oriented campaign. I am hopeful that our debates and public conversations helped to raise the bar of our civic discussion and to raise voter awareness of the pressing issues confronting our state.
I must thank my wife, family and volunteers for the countless hours they spent, the energy they exerted, and the optimism they exuded.
I must also thank all of my colleagues, coworkers, former bosses, elected officials, business leaders and residents that have supported me during my tenure with the City of York. I could not be where I am today without you. Both my wife and I sincerely appreciate all that you do.
Ultimately, my greatest appreciation resides with the voters. You have bestowed a great honor upon me, and it is one that I take very seriously. We have much work in the days ahead, and I plan to continue the record of service and representation set forth by Eugene DePasquale.
Thank you to all. I look forward to thanking you in person in the weeks ahead and working with all of you to build a better York community.
